End of Summer Archery and Hike

Looking to try something new before the end of summer? Check out the End of Summer Archery & Hike event, taking place from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 30 at Eggers Woods. The event invites attendees to explore the trails around Eggers Woods during a staff-led hike, followed by a hands-on archery workshop.

“The event is free and open to both families and individuals. Archery equipment will be provided, including equipment appropriate for children under the age of 10,” explained Justin Mercer, Forest Preserves of Cook County program coordinator. “Our instructors will guide participants through the safety and shooting process, and provide one-on-one instruction for everyone that attends the event.”

During the event, attendees can also enjoy a wellness-based obstacle course in which participants must navigate the natural landscape of Eggers Woods. Attendees are also invited to pack their own picnic and enjoy dinner in the Forest Preserves.
