Administrator's Office
A Village Administrator, appointed by the President and Board, executes the governing body’s directives and provides background information and analysis for the President and Board to make its decisions. The Village Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village.
Duties include:
- The dissemination of information to the Village Board
- Preparation of the Village Board Agenda
- Developing programs and budgets to respond to the Village Board's goals and keeping the Board informed of the present financial condition and future needs of the Village
- Advising the Village Board on pending decisions of public policy
- Ensuring that residents receive effective and efficient village services
- Development and oversight of the Village's annual budget and capital improvement program
- Approval and coordination of all Village events
- Attend all village board meetings. The village administrator shall have the right to take part in all discussions in public sessions, but shall not vote;
- Serve as village budget officer and prepare and submit to the village board, by the date set by the board, a recommended annual budget for village operations and a recommended capital program, and the annual appropriation ordinance. When the annual budget or capital program have been approved by the village board, and the annual appropriation ordinance has been adopted, the village administrator shall be responsible for the administration of said budget, capital program, and appropriation ordinance;
- Submit to the village board and make available to the public a complete report on the finances and administrative activities of the village as of the end of each fiscal year;
- Keep the village board and its committees fully advised as to the present financial condition and future needs of the village;
- Make recommendations to the village board on pending decisions of public policy and recommend to the board the adoption of such measures as the administrator may deem necessary or expedient for the health, safety, or welfare of the community or for the improvement of administrative services;
