Glenwood-Lynwood Library

The library is located at 19901 Stony Island Avenue in Lynwood. It is 1/4 mile north of the intersection of Glenwood-Dyer Road and Stony Island Avenue on the southeast side of the street.

The library serves the communties of Glenwood and Lynwood, Illinois.
From Main St. Turn Right On Stony Island Avenue. Library will be on left (0.7 mi)
Hours of Operation
Monday - Thursday 9 am - 9 pm
Friday and Saturday  9 am - 5 pm
Sunday (Sept. - May) 1 pm - 5 pm
*The last Saturday the library is open before summer is Sunday May, 20.
*The library will be closed on Sundays throughout the summer and reopening again in September. 


The Board of Trustess is comprised of 7 elected officials. They are responsible for the oversight and fiscal management of the library.

The Board meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the library meeting room.  Meetings are open to the public. If anyone would like to be added to the agenda for a meeting, please contact Kathy Parker, Library Director, by the 1st of the month.

If you spot the vibrant yellow bus in your area, hop on and take a look! The bookmobile has excellent resources for everyone.  Inside, you'll find a computer with free internet access and a  printer.  We also have a wide variety of books, movies, and games (Playstation 2 & 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii) you can check out with your library card. Can’t find the book you’re looking for? We'll place a hold on it for you to pick up later.  The bookmobile also has storytimes and crafts for patrons, school classes, and day care centers, as well as support materials for teachers.  Having a special event or hosting a festival? Call us to schedule to have the bookmobile there, at no cost! Wherever you see us, stop in to say "hello!"
